I got a call from an old friend asking me to cover a show that the venue she works at was having. It was their first weekend open after being closed for what we in the ski industry call “mud season”. It is the period in late spring where ski resorts are closed awaiting further snow melt to begin summer operations. Popular hiking trails and other attractions are void of tourists during this somber time in the mountains. To kick off the summer, Vail hosted the Go Pro Mountain Games and like a mosquito to a blue light, adrenaline junkies flocked to the event.
To keep the party going late into the night, Chasing Rabbits got Phyphr to perform. His unique blend of merging live guitar, EDM, and vocals kept the dance floor full. With the beat dropping, bottle service popping, and never stopping, summer has officially started in the mountains of Colorado.
